The "eye" of the storm ... the "eyes" have it ... LensCrafters loves your "eyes' .. "eye" know nothing ... this "eye" is for you ... you are the one "eye", one "eye", one "eye" I love .... this "eye" was taken at the stop off 163 going to Des Moines at the Prairie City exit. This buffalo is made of metal and is surrounded by native grass. A feast for the "eye"

Memorial day is to be celebrated this week-end. A time to remember and give thanks to all that paved the way to this existence as we know it today. As this pionie points out, we are all beautiful and have our time to enrich the view of our surroundings and then go away ... it takes a village to make things happen - be alive in the moment, share your love often, listen to others as if it were their last words. Love always finds a way - share yourself!

Thinking about children today and was reminded of a piece by Erma Bombeck I'd cut out to the paper and put in my oldest son's baby book. She referred to children as "kites". You spend a lifetime trying to get them off the ground. You run with them until you're both breathless ... they crash ... you add a longer tail. .. they hit the rooftop ... you pluck them out of the spout .. you patch and comfort, adjust and teach. You watch them lifted by the wind and assure them that someday they'll fly.
Finally they are airborne, but they need more string and you keep letting it out and with each twist of the ball of twine, there is a sadness that goes with the joy because the kite becomes more distant and somehow you know that it won't be long before that beautiful creature will snap the lifeline that bound you together and soar as it was meant to soar .. free and alone.
Only then do you know that you did your job.
Children are wonderful creatures to watch grow up. It's a lifetime of joy!

Thought for the Day
The things that count the most .... can't be counted.
I'm counting my blessings today and everyday that I'm alive, full of life, busy and happy. Carlton Bump used to say there are only three things in life you need to be happy -
1. Something to do
2. Something to look forward to
3. Someone to love
I have it all!
